This report provides information on various departments and other entities of the CountyGovernment of Nyeri for first quarter of the financial year 2017/2018. It highlights the performanceon local revenue mobilization, exchequer releases and expenditure of departments and other countyentities. The report covers the departments as constituted in the approved budget for the financialyear 2017/2018.This report is prepared in accordance with the requirements of Section 166 (4a, b) of the PublicFinance Management Act, 2012. It states that the county treasury shall consolidate all the quarterlyreports from County Government entities and submit them to the County Assembly and delivercopies to office of the Controller of Budget, National Treasury and the Commission on RevenueAllocation (CRA).The report provides valuable information on absorption of funds, as budgeted, and serves as animportant source of information for the improvement of budget implementation and reporting. Itinforms the stakeholders and the public in general on the countys performance in spending theappropriated funds.For this first quarter, the expenditure was mainly on recurrent vote and thus no report is provided onprojects. This can be attributed to issues on transition and as we move forward expenditure ondevelopment vote will be feasible.The County departments and other entities are called upon to hasten implementation of the identifiedprojects and programs for improved budget performance. Public participation remains critical inprojects identification and implementation so as to ensure effective targeting and also developmentsustainability in the county.
