This strategic plan provides us the best mix of approaches to combine our assets and resources in the

implementation of our 5-year Municipality Integrated Development Plan 2018-2022)

We now have a real opportunity to build on our achievements and successes, including keeping the

commitments the public has placed on us.

Through implementation of our urban plans, we will continue to build an inclusive opportunity municipality

that creates an enabling environment for socio-economic environmental transformation. We commit to

provide assistance to those who need it most, whilst also providing quality services to all our customers

and stakeholders in a well-run, corruption free administration.

The plan helps us to implement our IDEP through three pronged approaches

a) Contributing actively to the development of our environment, human and social capital

b) Offering high quality services to our people and providing support to businesses in the municipality

c) Implementing continuous improvement in our municipal governance

Our governance will be guided by six principles which are; resilience, sustainability, transformation through

transit- oriented development, governance reform, customer-focus and result-focus. The six principles

form the epicenter of this strategic plan and gives direction to the programmes, projects and initiatives

we will put in place to realize our IDEP priorities.
