Description | ...The SMART Survey sought to find out the County nutrition situation with the results used for evidence based decision making and for future programing. The main objective of the survey was to determine the prevalence of malnutrition among the children aged 6-59 months old and women of reproductive age (15-49 years) in Samburu County. Specific objectives included determining the immunization coverage for measles, Oral Polio Vaccines (OPV 1 and 3), and vitamin A supplementation in children aged 6-59 months, determining the prevalence of common illnesses among children 6-59 months, collecting information on possible underlying causes of malnutrition such as household food security, water, sanitation, and hygiene practices. Other objectives included; estimation of the use of zinc in diarrhea treatment in children, determining de-worming coverage for children aged 12 to 59 months, determining minimum dietary diversity for women of reproductive age and determining the coverage of IFAS among the among women with children below 24 months |
